Two guys in love with me,

And I am sorry I couldn’t have both,

And be a faithful woman, long I live

And looked into the eyes of the one I thought I love,

To check for signs of reciprocation and warmth.

Then looked at other as just as handsome,

And who perhaps could have been a better prospect

Because he wanted me to grow and develop fulsome.

Though I was doubtful if I wanted that freedom,

Had still looked at him with eyes full of light.

And both of them looked at me, with big and wide eyes

In eagerness, being their adorable child like selves

Oh! I wanted to reject the first for I always doubted his claims!

Yet knowing how much I trusted my heart; for it never fails,

I quieten my ego and go for him, before my mind wavers.

I shall be telling this with a sigh,

To my children and grandchildren, ages and ages hence,

Two guys were in love with me, and I…

I let go of the one who lighted up my eye,

And that has made all the difference.

P.S: Unlike Robert Frost’s, my heart went for the conventional of the two options, I really hope I made the right decision.
